Oestrogen

A hormone (actually 3 hormones) that is essential for puberty, ovulation, conception, and pregnancy in women. Oestrogen declines as women age and approach menopause. It also fluctuates, with other hormones, during perimenopause which can cause symptoms. Oestrogen has a wide range of other roles in the body, including protecting against bone loss and helping regulate cholesterol levels.
