Hot flush (or flash)

A sudden feeling of intense heat that comes from nowhere and spreads through the body quickly. Hot flushes are the most common symptom experienced by perimenopausal and menopausal women. Known triggers are spicy food, alcohol, stress and smoking - but for many women the exact trigger are unknown.
